It was an absolute honor to team up with Brad Keselowski’s Checkered Flag Foundation for the recent Operation Purple: Healing Adventures. This camp was put on by the National Military Family Association for veterans and their families, and was designed for them to learn to reconnect again as a family and to help children understand and cope with their loved ones’ injuries. Camp Rockfish was an awesome place for them to enjoy adventures and bonding time as a families. There were actives for all ages, including fishing, tubing, kayaking, zip lining, archery, BB guns, and various other adventures.
I was only able to be at the camp for one of the three days, but in my brief encounters with these families I was humbled and inspired by their courage and sacrifice. I was so grateful to see these families get quality time together, in an environment designed to restore and strengthen their bond. They are all so deserving of this special weekend. I hope this is just the beginning of amazing things to come for each of these precious families!
Thank you to those who made it possible: Brad Keselowski’s Checkered Flag Foundation for funding the Operation Healing Adventures at Camp Rockfish, and all the amazing staff! Special thanks to Brad and Paige Keselowski, Darren Murph, Suzanne Boyd, and Ann Hamilton, to name the ones I worked most closely with, whom were absolutely wonderful! And a huge thank you to all our incredible military and families. My prayers and gratitude are with you all!
Thank you for visiting my blog!
